D. Robinson, rider of Fairlander, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was one paced but stayed on galloping.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Fairlander, ridden by D. Robinson and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D. Robinson stated that his instructions were to get his mount to settle and jumping and then finish to the best of his ability. He added that his mount came off the bridle with a circuit to go and stayed on well. P.J. Rothwell confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He added that his charge would probably prefer a slower surface. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Fairlander had a superficial wound to its left fore shin but to be otherwise post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, S. O'Callaghan, rider of Moon Mission (GB), trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was dropped out to get him to switch off and jumping, which he did before passing tired horses, coming home one paced.
